About Emily Losordo, M.S., CCC-SLP

Hi! I’m Emily
I’m a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with over 7 years of experience in neuro-rehabilitation and brain care
EDUCATION: I completed my Bachelors of Science degree in Cognitive Science from University of Delaware. I earned my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions (MGH IHP) with a concentration in Medical Speech-Language Pathology.
EXPERIENCE: I completed a graduate clinical rotation at Massachusetts General Hospital where I trained in the neurology ICU and neuro critical care unit.
After graduation, I went on to complete my clinical fellowship and stay on at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in their brain injury unit. I gained invaluable experience in brain injuries and disorders. I continue to work there as a per diem therapist.
WHY APHASIA: Aphasia is the reason I first became a speech-language pathologist. As an undergraduate, I shadowed a speech pathologist and was inspired by the the patient (a doctor who experienced a stroke in her 50s) and role of the clinician. I love the field of neurology and rehab, but aphasia has always been my biggest passion. I love connecting with people, problem solving communication difficulties, and finding solutions.
MORE ABOUT ME: In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.
